Travelling - Northern California
Over the summer, I traveled to Northern California, driving through San Francisco and visiting the Yosemite National Park. I experienced the bustling streets of San Francisco, visiting the all-time-famous Lombard Street. I also got to experience the Golden Gate Bridge, see the Alcatraz Prison, and visit Pier 39 - containing a dock that was filled to the brim with seals! San Francisco was absolutely mesmerizing, and I was obsessed with its vibrant lights and cultures. I was able to try what seemed like endlessly plates of seafood, pizzas, and delights.
At Yosemite National Park, I was able to experience the great wonders, observing everything Nature has to offer. The beautiful mountains, chilling waterfalls, and chirping animals all brightened the experience tenfold. I hiked almost everyday (an activity I didn’t expect to enjoy) and felt so connected with the world around me.
This summer was an amazing blend of urban chaos and natural wonder, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It taught me how dynamic one place can truly be, something I hadn’t expected when joining this trip. Additionally, it helped me disconnect from the world around me and be one with myself. Whether it was the bustling streets of San Francisco, or the peaceful quiet of the woods at Yosemite Park, I felt capable of just staying in the moment and enjoying my surroundings - a feeling I hadn’t quite felt since prior to high school, a time of high stress and anxiety in my life. California was a refreshing way to conclude my high school career, and start my undergraduate studies fresh!
